2010 Extraordinary Decade
A new vision, new thinking and new starting point—the Tian Tan Summit welcomed yet another academic feast after a decade of extraordinary efforts! Just as Professor Wang Yongjun once said, it was difficult to imagine the scale and brilliance of the Tian Tan Summit ten years ago. It was merely a sense of responsibility and hope that supported him step by step, which was inseparable from the support efforts of many experts and scholars in the field of cerebrovascular disease both at home and abroad. It is their painstaking efforts that have transformed the dream of the Tian Tan Summit into the reality we see today!
2011 New Start
"Resonance, integration, connection" is the theme of the Tian Tan Summit in 2011. In the new decade, we will continue to uphold the consistent principle of the Tian Tan International cerebrovascular Disease Conference for the prevention and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases, and bravely confront the daunting challenges in scientific research on cerebrovascular diseases. In the new decade, we will echo with the world and continuously expand the influence of the Tian Tan Summit. We believe that after a decade of trials, the Tian Tan Summit, leading into the new decade, will surely steer the direction of cerebrovascular diseases prevention and treatment forward. We once again invite you to attend this conference, join us in exploring the new horizons of cerebrovascular disease prevention and treatment, and create another glorious decade in the field of cerebrovascular disease prevention and treatment!
2012 You are the Power
"You are the power" was the theme of TISC2012, which not only signified the development of the Tian Tan Summit carrying the power from all directions but also symbolized that the treatment of cerebrovascular diseases required multidisciplinary cooperation. Only through the joint efforts of multiple disciplines can we better fulfill the historical mission of preventing and reducing the harm of cerebrovascular diseases. The Forum was divided into four levels: the main forum was aimed at clinical specialists, community cerebrovascular disease management was aimed at community doctors, the forum also provided public health education lectures, and media briefings for the news media. Secondly, building of the foundation of classic content from previous years, the conference highlighted three main themes: medical quality control, translational medicine and clinical research.
2013 CHANCE’s Strongest Voice
The core theme of the Tian Tan Summit 2013 continued to harness the strong cohesive force of stroke prevention and treatment —— "You are the power". The conference content derived from this theme marked a groundbreaking milestone in its era. Supported by the National Key R&D Program of China "Establishment of clinical Evaluation Technology Platform for Innovative Drugs in Cerebrovascular Diseases", the CHANCE research study, led by Professor Wang Yongjun and his team, had mobilized collaboration from 114 hospitals across China over several years, resulting in 5170 cases of valid data. The study findings demonstrated that the combination therapy of clopidogrel and aspirin was superior to aspirin alone in the treatment of stroke and did not increase the risk of bleeding. The research report was simultaneously published in the New England Journal of Medicine, receiving recognition from the international medical community and influencing international treatment guidelines, but also rewritten the international medical treatment guidelines and led the treatment direction; This breakthrough had not only overcome the bottleneck of clinical evaluation of major new drugs developments in China but also established a model image and confidence for clinical research in China.
2014 The Research Changes Stroke Medical Practice.
The theme of the Tian Tan Summit in 2014 was "Research Changes Stroke Medical Practice". This theme called for more medical institutions to participate in clinical research, aiming to change the embarrassing situation in which Chinese guidelines were merely adaptations of foreign guidelines. The goal was to conduct China’s own clinical research and write China’s own clinical guidelines. The 2014 Tian Tan Summit comprehensively showcased the Chinese-level international voice of "stroke clinical research’s strategy". Addressing hot and difficult topics of common clinical concern, it retained some classic forums such as the Dizziness Forum and Cerebrovascular Disease Forum, while adding new forums such as Rational Evaluation, Screening and Intervention Forum for Cerebrovascular Disease, and the Evaluation and Application Forum for Collateral Circulation in Cerebrovascular Diseases. The content of classic forums was deepened and expanded, such as the forums on intracerebral hemorrhage and cardioembolic stroke. Tailored forums were set up based on different audience groups, such as Tian Tan Stroke Academy Premium Forum and the Practical Clinical Practice Forum on Stroke.
2015 Joining Hands with the First CSA Annual Meeting
In 2015, another significant milestone arrived for the Tian Tan Summit joined hands after 14 years of growth. In that year, the Chinese Stroke Association was established, and the Tian Tan Summit joined hands with the first Annual Meeting of the Chinese Stroke Association (CSA), marking a new era for the Tian Tan Summit with even greater vitality. Meanwhile, after years of accumulation and vigorous development in the field of cerebrovascular diseases in China, there came a pressing need for independent innovation and vigorous development in many medical fields, both internationally and domestically. These responsibilities and missions naturally fell upon every expert, scholar, and young physician engaged in cerebrovascular disease research, injecting unprecedented momentum and vitality into the Tian Tan Summit.
2016 Launch of the official English journal -Stroke and Vascular Neurology (SVN)

2018 Tianhai Cup - Neurointerventional Debate Forum
Active participation and deep engagement in academic events, involving oneself in discussions and interactions, are essential for greater gains. The audience at the Tianhai Cup - Neurointerventional Debate Forum not only understood each debate topic but also expressed their views through applause and laughter. After each round, viewers picked up their phones to scan the QR code to vote. If the judges’ votes were evenly split, the audience's vote would play a decisive role in determining the outcome of the competition.
2019 Release of the “Chinese Cerebrovascular Disease Guidelines”
In 2019, the highly anticipated “Chinese Cerebrovascular Disease Clinical Management Guidelines” were officially released. Aimed at further improving the standardization of cerebrovascular disease prevention and treatment in China, and reducing the incidence, disability, mortality and recurrence rates of stroke, the China stroke Association convened domestic experts over a period of two years to formulate comprehensive clinical management guidelines for cerebrovascular diseases. These guidelines covered various aspects including e prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, organizational management and stroke medical quality control. They were presented in a user-friendly format combining flowcharts and recommended practices, making them highly practical and closely aligned with clinical practice. The release of these guidelines was expected to serve as a guiding light in the field of cerebrovascular diseases, providing better guidance and assistance to healthcare professionals involved in cerebrovascular diseases management.
2020 Release of China Stroke Report 2019
In August 2020, the first national stroke report titled "China Stroke Report 2019” was released. Professor Wang Yongjun interpreted the English version of "Chinese Stroke Report 2019", published in the Stroke & Vascular Neurology journal in August 2020. This report comprehensively reflected the epidemiology of stroke in China, the quality of medical care during hospitalization and the current situation of in-hospital outcomes, allowing the global community to have a more direct understanding of the stroke prevention, control, and medical quality status and progress in China.
